Chuck Vs the Push Mix
The Push Mix is another episode that was supposed to be a finale. So it does a lot of things, from wrapping up Ellie’s pregnancy to letting Morgan play action hero, and reuniting Chuck with Sarah and his mom, along with wrapping up the Alexei Volkoff story.
It’s an episode that gives us so many great moment. Casey’s humanity really shines, and we see Awesome lose his mind; We get a seriously organized and Bad Ass Chuck; a very different Chuck from what we’re used to. A Chuck with a thought out plan that he didn’t come up with on the fly; He’s still Chuck, but he’s a wiser Chuck, and a more experienced Chuck.
We see a different Sarah too, in a lot of ways. When she and Mary come across Chuck and Morgan on the Contessa, while Mary scolds Chuck, Sarah’s just relieved to see him. Previously, she would have been pissed that he was risking himself, but through this first half of the season she’s really come to trust his strength and his instincts, which is great progress.
It also makes the final scene that much sweeter. :)
